Dara Torres: Age Is Just A Number

"...If I can inspire both women and men in anything it would be that age is just a number, not a death sentence. Wake up every morning with a plan and a dream. If you do, like me, dreams do still come true in your 40s and beyond."  ~Dara Torres (born April 15, 1967)

Dara Torres ROCKS!

Olympian.  Mother.  Body of Life.  Model.  Motivational Speaker.  41.  Body of Life...oh, I said that already (gotta get one of them!).  I don't know about you but just looking at her has inspired me to carry my tush into the gym today.

Dara wakes up every morning with a plan and a dream.  Her dream was (dare I say still is) the Olympics and it came true even when no one thought it would.

What is your dream?  I'm working on mine.  I'm working on lots of things...stay tuned.  I hope you're going to plan with me.

  1. I really want to get back in shape. This woman inspires me - just not enough to actually get my butt to the gym regularly!

Beyond her physique I love what she embodies. She is in her 40s (like me) and is a woman of strength, ambition, and as you said dreams. I adore people with dreams. I need to get mine back in site and start trusting that they can be!

And I am hoping (knowing) for you, that yours will come to!

I'm glad you are back and have somethings more to write about in the meantime...

  3. wow look at those legs. I too believe that age is just a number. I have seen people in their 20's who dress and act like they are 70 and it shows. On the other hand I have seen people literally in their 30,40 and beyond and you couldn't imagine that they are a day over 25 :-).
A healthy lifestyle is what will really help. I'm in my 20's but I need to really get myself in shape because I want to be a fab 40.

  4. since I am not blessed with a long body, I would be estatic if I have a body like Serena Williams. I think her body is the epitome of strong woman!
