Electrolysis or Bust!

I have only achieved a fraction of my Rocking 40 List so far, but this weekend I came up with the first of my Nameless 41 List(any suggestions for a name?).  I have decided that my moustache dainty lip hairs are out of control!  I can't take it anymore!  As soon as I wax or use that little tool from CVS they pop right back up...just like my darn gray hairs!  To make matters worse, they are dark brown/black.  Very noticeable...possibly a dirty upper lip, a rash, huh a moustache!  No woman is supposed to have whiskers on her face!  It just is not normal!  Therefore, the first addition to my Nameless 41 List is Electrolysis.  Maybe I can get my eyebrows done at the same time so I can keep my fabulous $75 looking eyebrows all the time!

Has anyone had electrolysis?  Does it hurt?  What is the cost I wonder for my little lip?  Do you think I should get it done for my eyebrows also?

  1. I have my brows and lip waxed. I'm kinda scared of electrolysis.

  3. If you have sensitive skin I would not consider electrolysis. One my girlfriends had it done and it caused scarring.

Plus, it takes like almost one year to kill the hair follicle completely.

  4. Hi Tammy,

I've had electrolysis and am very glad I did. It hurts, yes, but nothing you can't stand. It made my life a LOT easier! To answer Queen Diva, only a few hairs take more than one try to kill; however, people have hair cycles so you should anticipate going back regularly during those cycles to catch new ones. I didn't have any scarring, and the redness afterwards lasted about 15 minutes to a half-hour.

  5. Hi,

Had Laser Hair on the stash. Much better than electro, which is hair by hair. You need to go back multiple times and I would make sure you go to someone who has a laser that works on darker skin.

So far I love it. Wish I could afford the legs.

  6. I have a girlfriend who did that on her arms, etc. She swears by it, but painful, time consuming and very expensive.

  7. Thanks for all the advice. Either laser or electrolysis is on my list. I can't stand it I tell you! I think my grandmother had it about 20 years ago.
